One River Tea

Regular price $15.00 Sale

Leikouchai, literally translated as thunder struck firewood, is a lesser-known dancing oolong varietal.  When asked which teas he was most proud of, our producer mentioned this specific varietal, mentioning that few others in the village had his skill in its cultivation and production.

The dry leaves are dark, showing evidence of charcoal finishing, though thick veins of green remain along the stems.  The aroma of the dry leaves are warm and savory, like baking bread or gram crackers.  The liquor is thick and oily, with a soothing presence on the tongue and the back of the throat.  The kougan, or mouth feel, of this tea is very pronounced and backs up the saying they have in Chaozhou about spring tea “春汤秋香” Spring soup, autumn fragrance.  This tea is focused on creating a thick and pleasant brew, and delivers on this brew after brew.
