This aged dancong has the truly aged aroma and taste of a wet-stored raw puer. It brews deep red and is rich without bitterness. The loveliest part about this aged dancong is that the fragrances and sweetness - the higher notes praised in dancong teas - shines through the aged taste.
This is one of the truly amazing finds that seldom comes along while out tea sourcing. After meeting with Mr. Lin, watching him process tea, cooking food, and eating with his family, after hearing his story (born to tea farmers, moved to the city for work in his youth, came back to the village to settle down, grow tea and raise a family), only after building this relationship with one of the most stand-up tea farmers we have met did Lin pull out this tea. Lin told us that his father set this tea aside 36 or 37 years ago, and one taste of it backs up this statement.
This is a tea that we debated selling or not. There is not a vast quantity, and we enjoy drinking it so much that we were tempted just to hoard it and keep it to ourselves. This, however, goes against the joys of tea hunting and sourcing; what would be the point in jealously keeping every magic find from the tea travels? Thus, we have put this tea online to sell in small increments. There is not much so if you are curious, give it a try while you can. This tea will not be restocked.
