The leaves of the 2014 baimudan are noticeably darker than those of fresh white tea, but it is still bud-heavy and filled with small leaves, as is a characteristic of baimudan.  The aroma is also caught amidst the interesting transition from fresh grass to heavy sweetness.  This is a very high quality aged white tea.  Usually the later harvests of shoumei are set aside for aging, so this tea provides a unique opportunity to sample how a high-quality baimudan ages over time.  The liquor brews darker than the fresh baimudan, but is beginning the transition from green gold into yellow orange (on the way to the reddish orange it will ideally obtain after 7 years of age).  While the aroma of the liquor is still vegetal, the taste is thick, rich and complex with interesting sweetnesses, spices, and hinting at future flavors that will mature as it ages.  This tea is very enjoyable now, and will do very well if left to age in a sealed container for a few more years.
