This sample set is for those curious to try some of the lesser-known varietals of Dancong Oolong. Out of the 200+ varieties they cultivate in the Phoenix Mountains, we asked our producers to suggest a few of their favorite teas.
In this box, you will find heavy-roast teas, medium-roasted teas, and very lightly baked teas. While the teas come from different elevations and growing conditions, they are all dancong oolongs. This box is a great example of how different producers from the same region, growing the same style of tea can create such different results.
In the set:
14g Lin's Milanxiang
14g Huiwei's Tuofuhou
14g Wei's Almond Fragrance
14g Wei's Leikouchai
14g Wei's Zhilanxiang
14g Wei's Gaishanxiang
All the teas were made and curated in the Spring of 2019, and we have personally visited every farm, and have written small introductions to each of the farms for the curious customer.
The tea is packaged in 14g heat-sealed bags. Recommended brewing is 6-7 grams of tea in a 3-4 ounce gaiwan; thus, this sample set offers two chances to taste each tea and compare with the others.
We are very excited to share this tea tasting opportunity, as it is one of the few ways to really understand the complexities of certain types of teas.
