Unlike most Chinese producers, the Loushuiyuan Cooperative places a high value on both sustainability and solidarity. All of their tea is grown, processed, and sold by a handful of farming households in Yanping Village(Enshi, China).
The farmers themselves own and manage the cooperative, without direction from outside entities, corporate or otherwise. They are truly a successful example of cooperative self-management.
As for sustainability, although only a portion of their tea fields have been allowed to go wild (no weeding, pruning, or fertilizing, etc.), 100% of their tea is pesticide-free and grown organically.
From their wide range of available teas, we have selected the seven that are representative of the overall line up.
This sample box will include 10 grams of each of the teas listed below:
-Hefeng Wild Black Tea(鹤峰野红)
-Gudao Yihong (古道宜红)
-Black #2 (红#2)
-Pure-bud Handmade Green (纯手工芽)
-Hand-made Maojian (手工毛尖)
-Pre-Qingming Longjing (明前龙井-优)
-Green #3 (绿#3)
We reccomend this sampler to any new or returning customer interested in more mild tasting, conventional Chinese teas.
