Liao Xulin

Liao Xulin is a young son born into a nine generation tea farming family in the phoenix mountains.  He was born there and spent most his life on their high-elevation plots up near Heaven’s Lake (Tian Chi 天池) one of the highest elevation points in the local area.

As they’re been growing and making tea for so long, their gardens are full of strange varietals which we haven’t come across elsewhere.  Not only do they grow and produce a wide range of Dancong Oolong Cultivars, but they process and roast them at a very skillful level.  This can be very difficult for the less-experienced tea makers, as each varietal needs to be treated slightly differently.

We’re excited to get a chance to see their gardens soon, and will join in their processing next spring!
