Wang Family

A former county tea factory technician and his enterprising son, the Wang family have been making Guapian the old school way for some thirty years. Completely absorbed in their own tradition, they have little interest in new local experiments in yellow or herbal teas. The Wangs whisk fry their tea in woks, pile it for a brief mellowing, and then dry the leaves in wicker baskets over charcoal. This incredibly labor intensive, somewhat rough style of green tea production has remained almost unchanged for centuries.
