We work with several cooperatives in rural China to grow and make our own tea, while creating opportunities to develop community.

2026 August Drop

With Summer drawing to a close, we are now (re-)releasing three long requested items: a tea club subscription, an aged Baimudan white tea, and a re-pressing of our yellow tea cake.

Monthly Tea Club Subscription

Rotating Curations From Alex, Derek, Xiaoyan (and maybe Qinling): this box is your best chance to learn about the newest, strangest, and most delicious teas that we are personally crazy about. Always fun, intimate, and a great value.

Stacks: 2016 Baimudan

We are always on the look-out for more aged white tea material from Fuding, and we are due to again release another richly creamy, dry storage white tea cake made from optimal materials.

2026 Golden Cock Repressing

Another Big Yellow (Huangdacha) cake, this time from the producer in Jinjishan where we now have focused out volunteer project. Greener and fruitier, this cake will come with a special sample of the tea we made ourselves.

We of the One River Tea Cooperative believe in following the leaf, from bush to brew, we visit every farm, meeting, eating, and speaking with everyone that plays a part in making the teas we sell.  We invite you to see the farms, meet the makers, learn about the process, and know the most about your tea!

Smoked Lapsang

Carrying on a dying tradition, the Zhang family in the Masu Village of Tongmuguan make a traditionally smoked black tea redolent with fading traditions.

Wen Zitong

At the peak of Wudong Mountain, core region of the Dancong Oolong teas, lives a young prodigy making some of the best Wudong Dancong Oolong he have ever had the honor of sampling.

Fuding White Tea

Obssessed with quality from field to production to storage, our friend Qiu in Fuding carries some of the best white tea we have ever tasted.

Master Wei

High in the mountains outside the Phoenix Village, Master Wei cultivates and produces serveral varieties of Dancong oolong. As a farmer turned producer, he has an intimate understanding of growing, picking, and roasting tea

We are committed to knowing as much as we can about each of the farms we work with.  We visit every farm, spend time with the producers, talk with the pickers, ask about farming techniques and local histories.
