About Us

One River Tea is a cooperative of three, all based in China. We grow, process, and ship whole-leaf tea worldwide.  We have been living in mainland China and sourcing tea since 2017 and registered One River Tea LLP in 2018.  We have a solid commitment to seeking out and working with disadvantaged farmers throughout China. All the teas available on the website have been sourced ourselves and purchased directly from the people growing and making the tea. For some teas, the producer means us. We share profits from everything sold into the local tea growing community where we live.

We are committed to creating a strong community of farmers, producers, and consumers all linked though mutual solidarity.  We believe that together we can improve the life quality, production quality, and awareness of the tea industry as a whole.  We also aim to take the notion of 'fair trade' one step further and have created several Solidarity Initiatives that help keep this notion of global cooperation within the tea industry visible, transparent, and valid.
