Master Wei is an award winning dancong producer at the center of a family-run enterprise. He owns several tea gardens at high elevation near the Wudong mountain. The primary focus of these gardens is old-bush production, as a result, the trees are only harvested once a year (in spring) and are never pruned, allowing them to grow several meters tall. The gardens are old and beautiful, full of terraced rows of mossy trees that are harvested by pickers on sturdy wooden ladders. Wei cultivates and processes over 100 varieties, and focuses on the laocong and yunwei tastes. Read more about our visits to Wei's farms here.
