Beautiful trippy tea
One River Tea 2023 Sweet Memories Xigui dragonball rested 6 weeks at 69F with other dragonballs from sampler. 203F rinse and 20s+ cooling steeps. Yummy wet leaf aroma, little smokey, little bit of vanilla shortbread, little tropical fruitiness. Brew has a delicate bitterness that is pointed but short lived and melts into sweetness. Idk if I've really experienced that before, I've only read descriptions of bitterness melting into sweetness. I thought it was just a way of describing. It's very nice, I'm definitely a fan of this characteristic. Faint floral huigan. Toasted grain coming out mid steeps. The soup is thickish, soft, balanced. It steeps out into soft vegetal toasted grain. Getting floral finish from the stacked soup as it cools, it has lilac vibes. Lightly mouth coating. Then some kind of chi hit me, it had my head and body humming as if with some low voltage electrical vibes. I don't even use the word chi in my notes. I started spontaneously meditating to focus on the sensation it was very pleasant. I also kind of felt like time became expansive and I was living inside a moment. Trippy stuff, very nice. I looked around for more details on the blog and podcast about how these shengs were brought into the collection, I would love to learn about the discovery of the different farms, processing, etc.
