One of our most anticipated teas of the year.  One smell off the dry leaves gives rich savory nuttiness mixed with a hint of milky fragrances and of course the spring grassiness one would expect out of such a fresh, early picked naturally sun-dried and charcoal roasted white tea.
.

The pick quality is outstanding, consisting almost exclusively of one long silver bud and a single slim leaf.  There is very little discoloration in these scale leaves suggesting the highest care was given to their processing.  Further, the pick is Ma Ti, or Horse Stirrup, which suggests many of these trees were in fact let to grow wild instead of pruning to waist height, this backs up the farmers claim that this is indeed a wild white peony, 野生牡丹王.

When infused, the bouquet opens up full of floral spring fragrances and a heavy notes of cinnamon.  The brew itself is a creamy gold, it’s rich in the mouth with a thick savory body when brewed at high temperatures and delivers a creamy milky sweetness when brewed at lower temps (between 85 and 100 degrees Celcius).  The aroma on the lid and in the empty cup is one of pungent flowers and residual cinnamon spices with a heavy lingering afterthought of spring vegetation.  This very clean and refreshing tea is one of our top favorites to drink all through the year, fresh baimudan would certainly be our one and only if we could only choose one.

Our Baimudan, or White Peony, is a thickly vegetal early pick of white tea from Panxi Village in Northern Fujian China.  The pick is Mudan Wang, meaning King Peony.  This is one of the three main grades of Baimudan: Baimudan Wang (king white peony) consists of almost entirely buds and small leaves, Baimudan Jipin (exceptional grade white peony) consists of one bud and one or two leaves, while Baimudan (white peony) consists of one bud and two or even three leaves!

Excelent!

What a treat! Such a beautiful tea to look at, it seems like a lot of care was put into the processing. The sensation in the body is something to experience. Fresh but home-y, lingering and pleasantly dense in the liquid, with an upward thrust sensation right after the first brew that I could feel streaming out of my skull through the forehead. Thick, sweet, vegetal, floral, fruity, spicy, endless stream of aromas and flavors. The best I've tried and liked in the Bai Mu Dan realm so far.

So sweet

Omg this tea smells and tastes incredible. It's so sweet and I am truly astonished that something like this can have this much natural sweetness. Scent and flavor remind me of sweet rice with some floral notes. This is the first time I've had white tea and I'm absolutely blown away. Can't wait to purchase more.

THE KING

Dry leaves are super fresh and fragrant with lots of buds. Wet leaves were vibrant green and smelled like spring. The brew is vegetal, fresh spring, sweet and thick creamy. I brewed at 185 which really brought out the milky creaminess. No astringency at all, every session was spectacular. I've tried a few wudan **** before but this is the clear winner and look forward to purchasing more!

Best White Tea I've Ever Seen

I am amazed at this tea. Whole leaves, long silver hairs on the buds. The tea was a vibrant green. The liquid was honey colored and tasted as sweet. I was told this was the company for white teas, they proved it. Be aware, they ship from China directly, so it took a month to get. It was totally worth the wait. 100% I am now a customer!!!! Great job!
